PENN MUSEUM:
A center for culture & history surrounded by Ivy League Luxury

While many people already know Penn because it is our area's elite Ivy League school, you may not realize that it is also home to Penn Museum, an absolute gem of fascinating archaeological artifacts and a really cool place to get hitched!

Things we love about Penn Museum:

  1. So many Locations to Choose From
With different galleries and multiple courtyards to choose between, there is a space for anyone, regardless of their style. Regardless of which space you choose to host your reception in, you'll have access throughout the museum and its grounds for your portrait session.
  2. The Ceremony Options
We absolutely love the outdoor ceremonies we’ve been a part of in the gorgeous Stoner Courtyard.  Warden Gardens is another fantastic outdoor space. And don’t forget about their indoor options! Pepper Hall is such a lovely indoor ceremony option that you may even secretly want a little rain on your wedding day.
  3. The Team is Amazing
We can't stress enough how important it is to be working with the best of the best on your wedding day. You're already here with us, so we assume that you agree. Atiya, Hladini, and the crew behind weddings at Penn Museum are so great at communication and work incredibly hard to give every couple a top-notch experience.
  4. Simple & Sweet
We've partnered with Atiya & her team at Penn Museum to offer the Simple & Sweet collection, a perfectly arranged collection that covers all of the basics for an intimate brunch or cocktail affair at Penn Museum, working with some of the best wedding professionals that Philadelphia has to offer.

Penn Museum:
Helpful things to think about. . .

Having worked with the team at Penn Museum for some of our smoothest, most enjoyable events can make it hard to think of a "cons" list. But while there aren't many negatives, there are some things to keep in mind.

Things to consider about Penn Museum weddings:

  1. It is a Public Museum
If you're having an evening soiree, this may not impact your day, but if you're considering a first look on the museum property or are having a daytime ceremony (or all-out brunch reception) keep it in mind. Penn Museum is open from 10a-5p most days and museum goers tend to be a curious crowd so you might run into a few gawkers along the way.
  2. It's an Archaeology Museum
Duh! But it's important to think through what that means for photos & ambience. Your guests will be surrounded by artifacts from cultures around the world and some of the most interesting photo ops include sphinx and the Chinese rotunda. While some couples love these vibes, if history and global cultures isn't your jam, maybe consider another type of museum venue.
  3. Guest Count
Although the outdoor courtyards and Chinese rotunda does have the ability to fit 300 guests or more, most of the other indoor spaces max out at fewer than 100 guests. Unless you're looking for a more intimate celebration, your options for using the spaces will be more limited.
