We have so many different couples with different ideas of how they’d like their wedding to unfold, but it’s not too often that we attend a truly themed wedding. Aside from the occassional nod to a life-long love of sports showing up on a groom’s cake or the chance to embrace holiday decor in the florals of a winter wedding, most of the weddings we photograph have leaned into an overall “vibe” of classic elegance. But from the moment we fielded the call about Jessica & Thomas’s 90’s prom themed Pomme Radnor wedding, we knew we wanted to be a part of the fun.
Jessica & Thomas weren’t just aiming for something retro-cool with their day. (While I’m over here shaking my head at the fact that my childhood is now retro. . . ) These two lovebirds were actually prom dates many moons ago at their own 90’s prom, so bringing things full circle as they planned their Pomme Radnor wedding only made sense. And the kitsch element suited their playful personalities perfectly!
Included in Jessica’s personal details was an old school photo keychain of her with her late father on the evening of her prom, along with a dazzling princess statement necklace with a memorial charm. As she finished getting dressed at the Pomme Radnor wedding suite with it’s cool brick archway and walls of mirrors, she topped her head with a proper tiara. Jessica was ready for her night as the prom queen bride of her dreams!
At the same time, Thomas was having a calm getting ready with his closest family – his brother and his two sons. The guys were busy straightening their ties and enjoying each others’ company until the time came for them to head over to Pomme Radnor so that Thomas could meet his queen!

First Look & Portraits at Pomme Radnor
We love the bridged pathway at Pomme Radnor for first looks, because it gives us multiple perspectives of this moment, while also giving our couples a little extra privacy and personal space for this emotional moment. When Thomas turned around and saw Jessica in her gorgeous pale pink ruffled wedding dress, he was over-taken. But his gentlemanly response, to grab her hand and gently kiss it, warmed our hearts. This was a love story decades in the making and all of those years of anticipation had built up to this one lovely moment.
But no matter how emotional the first moments with your person can be, Thomas didn’t get caught up in the solemnity of things. Their entire portrait session was full of laughter, dancing, and playful moments. Jessica’s epic dipping skills wowed us over and over again.
As the wedding party and family members began to gather, we were able to capture their portraits along Pomme Radnor’s lush grounds. With autumn flowers and greenery in full bloom, plus the beautiful pergola on site, there were so many awesome places for us to capture these Pomme Radnor wedding party photos before everyone sneaked back inside to wait for the moment when the wedding ceremony would begin.

A Pomme Radnor Wedding Ceremony
With all the reminders of her father’s presence with her, Jessica walked under a greenery covered archway alongside her mother as she made her way down the aisle to Thomas. Although the ceremony itself was short & sweet, the energy in the crowd was high. After exchanging vows & rings, Jessica & Thomas found their way back the aisle of their Pomme Radnor wedding ceremony and sneaked away with Serena for a few more minutes of portraits before joining their guests.

Welcome to the Prom of your Dreams!
The real party was about to begin. And our prom dreams were all coming true! Jessica & Thomas’s original prom photo from 1996 was on full display. Their sweetheart table was flanked by a banner declaring “Glory Days: Dance the night away!” The entrance had a fun yard sign to match. But the absolute best part about the Prom theme had to be the sashes that all of the wedding party wore as they entered into this Pomme Radnor wedding reception. (We also loved the blow up boom box and mega-box phone from the early nineties!)
As the night went on, there were so many fun moments and the dance floor was hoppin’. Jessica was thriving as the queen of the court and Prom King Thomas was absolutely on top of the world! We finished up the night with macaron-topped cupcakes. I know I’ve said it before, but when given the chance to combine desserts with each other – take it!

Jessica & Thomas, we know it’s taken you decades to make it this far, so we hope that the decades ahead are even more joyful and love-filled. May the party never stop in your marriage.
