Philadelphia Wedding Photography | Julianne & Bobby’s Homage to Philly Wedding

As a Philadelphia Wedding Photographer, I truly love my city.  I love it even more when couples are able to bring Philly culture into their day.  Julianne & Bobby met at a quintessentially Philadelphia event–a Phillies game!  They were enjoying some pre-game fun when they wound up in coversation.  Bobby gave up great seats just so that he could spend the rest of the game with Julianne.  The results were a GRAND SLAM!  (Ok, that’s the end of the baseball references.  Mostly because I don’t know any more of them!)  They were able to integrate their love of the city throughout their day and their Philadelphia wedding photography!

We started the day at the beautiful Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown where we also captured some awesome bridal portraits.  Getting ready in the room with Julianne and all of her bridesmaids was a lot of fun.  When you put a dozen women in a room in a Presidential Suite, there is so much going on.  I love it!  Julianne had some really wonderful details incorporated into her day.  These  included beautiful flowered robes for each of the girls to get ready in.  My favorite little touch was that her bouquet was wrapped in her Christening bonnet.  She also brought a gorgeous mother-of-pearl bound prayer book which we incorporated into our detail shots.

Just a few floors away, Rachel had her hands full with a room full of rowdy, yet hilarious groomsmen.  I have said ever since I first met Bobby that Julianne will be smiling for the rest of her life, because he is a true jokester with the most charming personality.

Their ceremony was at the amazing St Francis Xavier Church near Fairmount Park.  It is a stunning stone Church with amazing arches and lots of painted details and stained glass.  Throughout their wedding mass, Bobby and Julianne were exchanging little reserved laughter and holding hands.  Bobby even waved and winked at me at one point!  As we left the ceremony for our trolley ride for pictures and the reception, we were greeted by a bagpiper from the Philadelphia Police & Fire Pipes & Drums to welcome them into their new married life–AWESOME!

We were able to stop off at Logan Square and got some fantastic pictures of their families and bridal party.  Each of the girls had selected their own beautiful dresses in hues ranging the rose/mauve spectrum and brought in textures of lace, chiffon, and satin seamlessly.  Julianne, her sister, and Bobby’s sister ABSOLUTELY MADE MY DAY when they climbed into the fountain together and played in the water.  It was such a hot day and these ladies put all pretenses on hold to have fun in the moment!  LOVE THEM!

Julianne & Bobby’s outdoor reception at The Belmont Mansion at Fairmount Park had a perfect view of the city skyline and was filled with even more of their thoughtful personality–from the Gallagher Scotch Tasting Gazebo to the little flashlight favors to help their guests find their way home after dark.

Julianne & Bobby, I was so excited to be a part of your day and can’t wait to keep up on all of the exciting moments that life will bring your way!  I hope that you will have neverending happiness and laughter together and that all of the Irish blessings in the world couldn’t wish you as much joy as you will experience together!
