Charmaine + Scott • Married {part three}

This post demands that we start with a cautionary tale. Always, always check with your church about any rules they may have for your photographer. We were all set to photograph Charmaine and Scott’s nuptials when we were informed by their officiant that we would not be allowed to take pictures during the ceremony, only for the processional and recessional. Say what? Needless to say, we were in a bind – these images are important and commemorate an incredibly important time in the wedding day – I mean, it’s when the couple actually gets married! We stayed cool however, and after a brief chat with Charmaine and Scott, who were SO amazing, we pulled everyone inside for a quick minute and re-enacted some of the key moments. It was about creating a visual reminder of the actual moment that they had shared, something they could look back on, years later, and remember when they made their vows to one another. We take that very seriously, and thankfully, we were able to do that for this amazing couple.

After the ceremony, however, we hastened away to their all vegan reception. Rachel was so impressed, as someone who is not vegan (not even close), she thought the food was incredible! And I was excited to be at a reception where I could eat everything and anything that I wanted!  Everything was delicious and homey and perfect. The reception hall was rustic and charming, decorated in a myriad of hues and textures suited to the approaching holiday. There was mistletoe hanging, baby’s breath in every centerpiece, and the most adorable cake topper we’ve seen. They danced, twirling and whirling all about the floor. Not just with each other, but Scott shared a traditional dance with his mother while Charmaine extended the tradition to include her entire family. Seriously sweet.

The night was over far too quickly as the bouquet and garter were tossed and their amazing vegan cake was cut and shared between the newlyweds. We enjoyed every moment we spent with Charmaine and Scott and are delighted to now share their wedding with all of you!

Char and Scott, happy almost anniversary! We hope that it was an amazing year and that it is followed by many many more!
