I loved getting to see my best friend transition into her moment as a bride!  We got Colleen dressed at her parents’ house in her childhood bedroom!  Her mother, Eileen, did the honors.  Colleen & I always used to joke that her mother liked me best out of all of her college friends – I hope after seeing these photos, she likes me even more!

Dave started the goofiness before he was even dressed for the day. Showing off the hotel room tea, displaying his watch, and being caressed by his best men!

Dave’s face absolutely lit up when he saw Colleen walk down the aisle. I was impressed with how gracefully Colleen made it down the aisle – usually she is the friend I ugly-cry with. When Colleen’s father made it to the top of the aisle with her, he gave Dave the biggest hug! It’s so great to see families come together on this level!

Colleen told me to prepare for her brother who has autism, Kevin’s, reading and that everyone in the audience would be in tears when he was speaking because it was such an achievement. Apparently during the rehearsal, everyone told him to speak loud into the microphone and slowly enough so everyone would understand. It was the loudest reading I’ve ever been to, but the big smiles on everyone’s faces during the verses made me smile, too!

One of our friends from college who also works with the same theatre group as Colleen and Dave, Megan Ruggles, sang Ave Maria during their wedding mass. She has such a beautiful voice and it was a pleasure to hear her again!

When Dave leaned in for their first kiss, he almost smooshed Colleen’s bouquet! This was the first wedding when I’ve gotten to see a bride dodge the first kiss. (Don’t worry, after she moved her flowers, she let him kiss her and we all had a great laugh!)

And the cherry on top: When we got to the Concordville Inn, I was able to pass the cameras off to Jenn and Ann and celebrate my friends the way God intended – by lifting a glass and drinking to many happy years ahead of them. Cheers to Colleen & Dave!
