This past October, Rachel had the immense joy of photographing the wedding of Kim and Chris. This was a wedding she had been looking forward to since meeting these two incredible people and shooting their engagement session, and the day was nothing short of magical.
Getting ready: Kimberlee
Oh man. The weather was not as cooperative as we would have hoped, but that didn’t matter the moment we walked into Kim’s parent’s house. We came in to find a completely relaxed and radiant bride. Seriously, Kim could not have been more chill. She was bouncing from room to room, not quite sure what to do with herself. Her hair and makeup was done, and she eagerly handed her dress and details to Rachel to photograph. Everything was beautiful. Her DaVinci Bridal dress seemed like it had been made for her. The delicate lace details paired with the veil her mother had made with the lace from her own gown was a stunning combination. Heartfelt as well.
We loved her Betsey Johnson flats and the jewelry she wore as her something old. Her grandmother’s pearl bracelet. When we were done fawning over her details, she slipped into her dress and turned her attention to the gifts (yes, plural) that Chris had left for her. When she opened the first gift, there was a wave of laughter that swept the room. It was a Halloween toy that screamed when she opened the box. This brought back memories of when they met and Chris scared her with a similar toy. The second box held a pair of beautiful pearl earrings. Something brand new for her to wear. And keep forever.
After the earrings were in and veil attached, we were off to the church to get these long time lovebirds hitched!
Getting ready: Chris
Meanwhile across town, Chris was getting ready as well. Normally very happy-go-lucky, he was a little nervous. More than a little nervous. But all that melted away when he read the letters that Kim had written him. Letters is a bit of an understatement. Novels would be more accurate. Accompanying the letters was a gorgeous wood detailed watch to complement his cufflinks and burgundy Chuck Taylors. Once we had him suited up, we whisked him to the church to marry his bride.
The ceremony at St. Bartholomew the Apostle
The moment Chris saw Kim coming down the aisle, we thought his face would explode. The grin was magnificent. And we knew why. These two are truly, madly, deeply in love. Throughout the ceremony, Chris stole tons of glances at her. So cute.
As they exchanged vows and rings, we couldn’t help but tear up a bit. These two are made for each other. They are perfect together. And the honor was not lost on us that we got to share in this moment with them.
The reception at the Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial
During the drive from the church to the reception, the skies lightened. The rain was clearing out and we saw that the sunset was going to be glorious. It didn’t disappoint. We shot away as Chris and Kim were there wonderful selves. The autumn foliage burned and the golden light only added to the flame.
As the sun went down, we got a fabulous sunset that we shot until it was too dark to see. Then we took the newlyweds in for their reception.
The reception began with a great first dance and went in to lovely toasts. Chris’s brother spent ten minutes (at least) honoring his brother for his life of integrity. A lovely change of pace from the typical roast.
Throughout the night the dance floor was jumping and all too soon it was time for us to head home.
Kim and Chris, we adored your wedding and hope that your honeymoon was incredible. We wish you all the very best and can’t wait to connect with you again!

Kim’s dress left us speechless. The delicate lace detailing and the open buttoned back was perfect for her.

We love Betsey Johnson shoes for their whimsy and beautiful blue soles, and how about these flats? So pretty and practical!

Remember how these two met? Chris gave Kim a heart attack with a toy that screamed when you pressed a button and gave her another one with this little pumpkin.

That moment when your bride to be writes you a novel and follows it up with a fabulous wood detail watch.
