Christy and Dan’s wedding at Green Valley Country Club was all kinds of fun. From funny coincidences (like Rachel growing up mere blocks away from Dan), to the absolutely amazing dance floor that wouldn’t quit, we didn’t stop smiling along with these two and their families from start to finish.
Getting Ready for their Green Valley Country Club Wedding
The bridal suite at GVCC was a dream. Lots of big windows and a glass covered table. The reflection of Christy’s gorgeous details meant double the pretty! Her hand designed engagement ring was paired with a wedding band that had belonged to her grandmother. What a touching tribute to her heritage! Her sparkly Badgley Mischka’s were completely worth the snags on the tulle of her dress. And her dress! She found it at Van Cleve Bridal, and it was a lightweight stunner. Perfect for a warm day spent in the sun.
When she put it on, a simple zip and bam, she was ready! It was almost too fast. But Christy’s easy going nature meant that simple is best. We sat for a few portraits before heading to the church.
Meanwhile, things had gone a little less smoothly for the guys. Mostly due to some uncooperative suspenders. But once those were shown whose boss, Dan enjoyed himself. Even taking a turn on a mini arcade game, until he ran out of quarters. But at that point, there was only a couples minutes to share a drink with his guys and get on the shuttle for the church.
The Ceremony at St Matthew in Conshohocken
Right down the street from our studio is St Matthews. It’s a favorite for us. When we arrived, Dan was kicking back and chilling waiting for the priest to arrive. As soon as he did, the ceremony began.
Dan’s face glowed like the freaking sun when he saw Christy come down the aisle. All the stress of the morning drifted away and he was visibly at peace. The ceremony proceeded in the Catholic tradition. During their ceremony, they caught a case of the giggles. We smiled to ourselves as we watched their shoulders shake and Christy shushed Dan once or twice. But hey, sometimes, things are just funny!
But the best part, was they did the damn thing. They got married and they left that church as husband and wife!
Portraits at Green Valley Country Club
We zipped quickly from St Matthews to Green Valley Country Club for some portraits on the course. The sun was warm, and spirits were high. The perfect combination for some great portraits of the newlyweds and bridal party. We even snagged some golf carts and cruised out to some other locations where we found beautiful light. When all the love’d been captured, we ran back so people could enjoy some time with the bride and groom.
The Reception at Green Valley Country Club
Some of the most epic entrances we’ve ever seen. A bridesmaid actually shot gunned a beer on the dance floor. That was a first for us. It only got better from there. Christy sang their entire first dance song to Dan, who couldn’t stop smiling at her. Parent dances and toasts ensued and then the happy chaos that is a dance floor. We couldn’t have been happier to capture, in Christy’s words “all the crazy stuff”, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
All the best to you both! Your wedding was awesome from start to finish!
