We’ve had the joy of serving a couple hundred couples in our almost ten years of capturing weddings, but we remember all of them! So when we got an email from Stephanie’s mom, Marianne, asking if we remembered photographing her daughter Jaime’s wedding, we said “YES!” immediately! This sweet family is dear to us, and so it was such a delight to reconnect and get excited for Stephanie’s turn to walk down the aisle at the Greenville Country Club.
Getting Ready at the Greenville Country Club
When we pulled in to the stunning Greenville Country Club, we could feel in our souls that today was going to be amazing. The weather was perfect for a summer Saturday, and everything was being set for the wedding ceremony. We made our way up to the incredibly beautiful bridal suite and found Stephanie, her mom, and Jaime, her sister, all enjoying a few minutes together. Stephanie brought out all the beautiful details she’d assembled for her day. We loved the dainty color palette and everything had its moment in the spotlight. Then came the moment to get dressed. Getting to capture Stephanie being helped into her dress, just as she’d helped her sister a few years ago, was such a joy. As Marianne’s eyes sparkled with happy tears, ours did too. This family is so dear to us!
The transformation was complete, so we tarried no longer. After making sure the guys, who had already gotten dressed and had their outdoor wedding party shots done, were safely hidden away, we took the ladies out to the gardens for a few fun portraits before guests began to arrive.
The Wedding Ceremony
Stephanie and Max came together under a truly stunning Chuppah as they paid homage to Max’s Jewish background. Their officiant told everyone just how perfect a day it was and that these two were made for each other. She’d had them write down the answer to a unique question about the other, and she shared the answers for everyone to hear for the first time. Including Stephanie and Max. Hearing about how Max makes Stephanie feel like she can be her best self and do everything, and how Stephanie cares deeply for Max and makes him strive to be worthy of her love and affections – though she gives them freely, will linger with us.
They exchanged vows and their beautiful wedding rings. In another homage to his Jewish heritage, Max broke a glass just before they made their way back down as husband and wife!
Portraits & Reception at Greenville Country Club
Wandering the grounds of Greenville Country Club with an amazing couple who are on cloud nine following their wedding ceremony is a match made in heaven. Everywhere we looked, we saw potential. So we got busy and made some stunning portraits of these two happen as quickly as possible so that we could let them enjoy some of their cocktail hour before spending the night dancing with their guests.
After being announced into the reception as the new Mr and Mrs, Stephanie and Max shared a lovely first dance with each other. But it was the toasts that really stand out in our minds. Jaime spoke of how loyal and trustworthy Max is. How he was the only one they entrusted with the gender of Stephanie’s nephew, Jack, before it was revealed to the rest of the family. (We got to meet Jack when he was born, and he is a sweetie!) We loved how it was perfectly obvious to everyone when Stephanie introduced Max to them, that he was the perfect mate for her.
The night blurred into dancing, but right after the cake was cut, a special little cart arrived at Greenville Country Club. An ice cream cart full of everyone’s favorite treat was there to serve scoops to all. Including us! By order of Marianne, the mother of the bride no less. We’ll never turn down ice cream!
When it was time to leave, we didn’t want to. But we made sure to grab every member of this dear family and give them a hug and say goodnight. Hopefully, we’ll get to stay involved if there are more little ones to come!
