We’ve been with Yanni and Shaun through a lot of their big life moments! Their Art Museum area engagement session ranks high on our list of amazing engagement sessions. Their marriage celebration at the Arts Ballroom was a complete marvel. When Yanni found out she was pregnant, we were so thrilled to be one of their first phone calls. Of course we had to revisit the Art Museum for their maternity session. You can’t have too much of a good thing.
Then we waited. Waited for the second call to come. Waited to find out if little Cruz had made their way into the world yet. When that call came, we were so excited to capture some of baby Liam’s first moments at home with his beautiful mom and dad.
Yanni and Shaun opted for an in-home newborn session, which most of our couples wind up doing. Most people aren’t too keen on taking baby outside for a while. We were happy to enjoy a peaceful afternoon with this sweet boy. His full head of hair was perfectly tousled, and he was so quiet and calm. Why wouldn’t you be when you’re surrounded by people who absolutely adore you?
Our approach to in-home newborn sessions is fairly simple; just be together as your newly enlarged family. We love seeing the beaming faces of new parents as they gaze at the angelic face of their newborn. We recommend not putting a ton of pressure on the session. Sometimes babies can be unpredictable. Our advice is to get used to it. Babies are always changing and it’s best to learn to roll with the punches. Soak up every second of it. Before you know it, you’ll be calling us for their first birthday pictures!
