Knowlton Mansion Wedding | Brittney & Daniel Locicero

Brittney and Daniel tied the knot in a beautiful and intimate beach wedding in Sea Isle City in September of 2020. Technically then, their Knowlton wedding was round two. But who’s counting? Definitely not us, and we would celebrate with these two every year if we could!

Getting Ready for the Knowlton Wedding

From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew today was all about the fun and the people! Brittney’s spectacular dress screamed party time. We loved that she got the chance to wear a new dress for today’s festivities. She and the girls were all having such a good time as they finished putting on eyelashes, zipping up dresses, and getting on their shoes. There was almost this mild feeling of disbelief that they were here and that they could have the party they’d always wanted.

Before the party though, Brittney had to see Dan. She was so excited to show him her different look and to take his hand again, this time for their Knowlton wedding.

Dan had gotten ready at the adorable apartment they share in Fairmount. Complete with a little plant corner and roof deck with a great view of City Hall, this beautiful flat was a great place for the guys to hang out and get their suits on. He couldn’t wait to get the show on the road, so we didn’t delay. The guys toasted to a beautiful day on the roof deck and off we went!

First Look and Portraits Outside the Barnes

Right along the Ben Franklin Parkway, we found a shady spot outside the Barnes. This lovely tree lined green space was perfect for Brittney and Dan to come together for their Knowlton wedding day. Daniel waited patiently for that gentle tap on his shoulder as Brittney floated towards him. When he turned to see her, they burst into sunny smiles and fell into one another’s arms.

When they’d had a few minutes to gush about the day so far, we took them on a little walking tour of the exterior of the Barnes for some great portraits. Wedding party joined us shortly and we got a few of the full party before having to dash to the trolley to get to the Knowlton wedding… in rush hour traffic.

The Knowlton Wedding Ceremony & Reception

After making our way through rush hour traffic and a nasty pop up thunderstorm, we arrived at Knowlton Mansion to clearing skies and cooler temps. The staff were hard at work drying off the chairs so the outdoor ceremony could continue as planned. Once all were seated, the music swelled, and the Knowlton wedding ceremony began.

Brittney’s cousin officiated. He told of how he’d watched the bride and groom navigate the pandemic with one another, grown through it, and served others throughout. He joked that he thought it was a bit early for a vow renewal, but whatever, which got a lot of laughs. Brittney spent half the time staring at Dan and the other half looking out towards all the people that mean so much to them and laughing. It was truly a special day. They kissed as “newlyweds” for the second time and practically skipped back down the aisle, utterly elated.

The new Locicero’s were announced into their reception following the most delicious smelling cocktail hour. The mini chicken and waffles looked particularly amazing. The opened the dance floor with a sweet first dance and then took their seats as the guests of honor.

Brittney’s sister gave an amazing toast. She does stand up comedy, and everything about her speech was perfect. She raved about her sister and how she constantly does things with everything she has. Never giving less than 100%. One quote that will forever stick with us was when she was talking about their college experience. She said, “Brittney was getting her Master’s in education and I was just getting my Master’s in Bation.” There was a little pause, and then as people put it together, a roar of laughter. She then said, “That was the only iffy joke and mom seems ok, so we’re good!”

Dan’s brother gave a heartfelt toast to round out the speeches for the night and dinner was served.

Their Knowlton wedding celebration wore on well into the night with lots of dancing and fun. When we went to say goodbye, Brittney caught us off guard by tearing up. Dan did as well. Then we did too! Brittney explained that she was so grateful we’d been with them through this whole journey. It had been more than two solid years since we’d been brought onboard as their photographer. It’s the best feeling to know that you’ve served your clients so well that they are sad to not have reasons to contact you. Though that’s a bit of a misnomer. You can absolutely keep in touch and be our friends in real life too!

Brittney and Dan, don’t be strangers! We had a beautiful time with you, and we hope to grab a beer sometime soon!
