The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs wedding

On Sunday, Rachel and Ann had the wonderful pleasure of photographing Rebecca and Nic’s exquisite wedding at Historic Yellow Spring in Chester Springs. The air of elegance and lush florals, coupled with the white dresses worn by the bridesmaids and the suit pants and suspenders worn by the groomsmen, gave the entire soiree the feel of a French cocktail party.

Rebecca is an extremely intelligent woman who loves her family and Nic with all that she has. Her main concern throughout the entire wedding was others. She paid close attention to how her parents and mother in law were doing, and spent a few minutes with her adorable nephew ring bearer. Her simple white dress with detachable train was lovely. Her fresh faced makeup and natural hair made everything feel effortless. Her bouquet, oh her bouquet! We could have spent hours photographing all the different aspects of this truly unique and gorgeous bouquet. In the meantime, Nic was making sure his shoes were tied, his boutonniere secure, and pocket watch carefully placed in his pocket. He was the very picture of dapper.

As the ceremony began, the harpist and cellist played and as the bridesmaids made their long walk to the site, there was this sense of peace. All was right in the world as Rebecca waited her turn to marry her longtime love. As Ave Maria began to play, the bride, escorted by her whole family, floated up the hill. When Nic saw her, the smile that lit his face was brilliant. It was true loves smile. Their ceremony was heartfelt, and they included many of their family members in it, having her father and his mother offer readings from some of the great poets of the age.

This was truly a day of beauty, inside and out. The weather was spectacular, the details carefully chosen, and the words spoken were beautifully chosen to carry special significance for the newlyweds for the rest of their lives.
