After a freak snow storm the day before, the weather for Sarah and Chris’s lovely wedding was just perfect. These two deserved nothing less for special day.
We arrived at Eden Resort to photograph Sarah getting ready. Her amazing David’s Bridal gown was a vision of intricate lace, featured a cutout back and the most adorable little cap sleeves. It fit her perfectly. Her simple jewelry reflected her personality of class and elegance. Chris’s custom designed engagement ring sat daintily on her finger, sparkling in the light. She and her mom worked together to put on the finishing touches while they laughed and cried together as they anticipated leaving for the ceremony shortly. Sarah has the sweetest demeanor and was beyond excited to see Chris.
Chris in the meantime was practically beside himself with anticipation waiting for Sarah to arrive for their first look. He gave us a brief history of their relationship and how he had proposed – a story for another time, but so sweet! We set him in place, his back to where Sarah would come in, and led her to him with her eyes closed.
They stood back to back, reading the letters they had written each other for their wedding day. These were read aloud later in the ceremony, and made us tear up. Sweet, heartfelt and every word communicating the love and admiration they have for each other. Cue the waterworks. A teary-eyed Sarah was somewhat exasperated as she said, “I’m never going to make it through today.” When they finally turned to see one another, oh my word. Every bride dreams of having an adoring groom and Chris is the new bar by which we will measure a grooms adoration of his bride. The way he looked at her, it spoke volumes upon volumes. She blushed and tearfully hugged him, so eager to begin their married life together!
Their couples portrait session was full of love and laughter. They adventured with us into tall grass, gave us some sass and showed off their wonderful outfits, and, above all, clung to each other in pure joy.
Their ceremony was simple, full of grace and extremely edifying. Their pastor spoke of how they should love one another throughout their marriage, and it was one of the best marriage ceremonies we have heard in a long time. Despite the unity candle giving them some trouble as they attempted to light it, they joined together as one and with a passionate kiss were pronounced man and wife!
The evening passed quickly as guests enjoyed dancing and conversation after a delicious meal. Before we knew it, it was time to leave.
Sarah and Chris, we hope that you guys experience all the best of life, grow in your love for one another and have an absolutely amazing time in HAWAII! (super jealous!)
