Wedding at the Arts Ballroom | Christina Marconi & Scott Walker

Hang onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen. Christina and Scott’s wedding at the Arts Ballroom is a stunner! After months of planning and even a few day of changes, the big day went off without a hitch.

Getting Ready at the Arts Ballroom

Originally, Christina and Scott had chosen a different location to get ready for their wedding at the Arts Ballroom, some last minute issues forced them to make a quick pivot. Thankfully the Ballroom was available for them and they were able to arrange to have everything they needed take place there.

It worked out quite well, save one small quirk. The fire alarm was scheduled to be tested, so every few minutes, the alarms would blare and the lights would flash. Definitely not the most tranquil setting for getting ready for a wedding. But everyone made the best of it.

We made full use of the giant windows to shoot all the lovely details. Christina’s headpiece was simply stunning. Her classic Badgley Mischka heels reflected off the granite and we were shown twice the beauty. It was when we got to capturing her dress that the true drama of the day came to the forefront. Her full length princess gown with a train to match made our jaws drop. The off the shoulder sleeves gave us serious Beauty and the Beast vibes, and Christina was every inch a beauty like Belle. It took some effort to find the floor as she stepped into it, but when everything was in place, she was utterly radiant.

Meanwhile, Scott was somewhat nervously getting himself together for the big day. We could see just how excited he was to marry Christina, and how much he didn’t want to accidentally see the dress in the somewhat confined space they found themselves in. To solve this problem, we had him hop in the front seat of the limo bus and everyone else in the back. It was first look time!

First Look at Headhouse Square

On the cobblestone pathway next to the historic Headhouse Square, a place very special to Christina and Scott, he waited for his bride. You could see the nerves creeping in more and more. It was actually very sweet. Christina walked towards him, her train freshly fluffed, and touched his shoulder. He reached for her hand and held it for a moment. Then he turned around and saw her. Smiles all around! He then did a full 360 walk around with his mouth wide open. With good reason. Christina was completely royal. We hung around for a few portraits before heading over to the Merchant Exchange Building.

We were showered on briefly – thank goodness for overhangs and umbrellas – but we got some beautiful portraits at MEB before heading to the covered Second Bank.

Christina and Scott lit up our cameras! They were so adorable together and Christina’s regal gown looked right at home on the stairs at the Bank. Then it was time for the wedding at the Arts Ballroom.

The Wedding at the Arts Ballroom

After a few more portraits, including a few dramatic shots on the stairs at the Arts Ballroom, it was time for the ceremony. Scott’s parents were all smiles as they walked down the aisle. Scott was less nervous by now and waited patiently at the altar for Christina. Her father was patiently waiting at the bottom of the stairs to take her hand and walk down the aisle together. Christina’s dress cascaded down the stairs behind her as she carefully made her entrance.

Their wedding at the Arts Ballroom was sweet and tender, with a little silliness thrown in. What sticks out in our minds is their ring warming ceremony. They had a special pouch with both wedding bands inside. That pouch was passed among every guest in attendance. Each guest held it for a moment, warming it with their hands and putting all their best wishes into the rings, before passing it along. Only after everyone had a chance to warm the rings, did Christina and Scott give them to one another. What a sweet ceremony.

They were wed and shared a fantastic kiss before heading back down the aisle as husband and wife! After a quick round of family portraits, it was party time!

The Wedding at the Arts Ballroom Reception

Christina and Scott sure know how to throw a party! They charged into their reception and swept everyone off their feet during their first dance. There were some wonderful speeches by the best men and matron of honor, followed by a heartfelt thank you from Scott. Christina and her father whirled around the dance floor for their special dance, and Scott made his mother smile from ear to ear during theirs. The dance floor was a blur all night, and when the band played Pearl Jam, Scott and his friends held onto one another and sang with all their might. The wedding at the Arts Ballroom was amazing and the literal cherry on top was the fantastic dessert spread. Including a donut wall, cotton candy machine, and MILKSHAKES! Christina made sure we had one and it was everything we ever wanted.

Congratulations to the Walkers and Vedder, Scott’s beloved dog.
