Wedding at the Desmond Hotel | Marisa & Sean - Greater Philadelphia Wedding Photography & Videography Team

While Serena & Michelle were off in New Jersey for a classic country club wedding, Ashley & her team were thrilled to be staying local at The Desmond Hotel for Marisa & Sean’s special day. Merely minutes from our old home base in Malvern, winding up the summer season with these two was an absolute joy! After meeting at a strength and conditioning conference, Marisa & Sean’s love grew stronger through almost a year of long distance dating before beginning their lives together with a wedding at the Desmond Hotel.

Getting Ready for the Wedding at the Desmond Hotel

With plenty of room for the readying bridesmaids, Marisa & her bridal crew claimed the conference room while Sean prepared with his groomsmen back in their suite of The Desmond. After photographing Marisa’s sentimental and statement jewelry, we snapped a shot of the girls in their ruby red robes and got them into their gowns. Marisa’s mom was ready to go to work on those beautiful buttons with a crochet hook in hand. After adding her accessories, it was time for the unveiling of her bridal look. First, a first look with her dad, then her bridesmaids. We made sure to capture a few gorgeous bridal portraits before reading the card from her groom. Finally, the time had come for their first look in the garden before the wedding at The Desmond Hotel.

Sean kept it classic with his three-piece charcoal suit and red tie to match the theme of the wedding at The Desmond Hotel. He came prepared with a plethora of pins for his lapel, our favorite featuring Spongebob, and a custom groom hanger featuring his wedding date. After stepping outside to open and spritz his gift, the anticipation began as he awaited his bride.

First Look & Photos at the Desmond

Their first look among the flowers was a sweet sight as Sean admired his beautiful bride. He took her by the hand and spun her around to take it all in before planting a few kisses and heading off to explore the grounds of the Desmond Hotel. As summer began to fade, the surrounding trees were the perfect blend of lively and colorful to encapsulate their newlywed-to-be bliss.

Whenever all of the wedding day festivities take place in one location, we love to look for some variety for your photos. The gazebo was the perfect place for their wedding party portraits. Strings of florals laced through the structure added the perfect touch as Marisa & Sean stood with their closest companions. The ruby red bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen ties contrasted beautifully with the greens of the surrounding garden. After bringing their families in for a few formals, it was time to get these two married with a wedding ceremony at the Desmond.

Ballroom Ceremony at the Desmond Malvern

To begin the ballroom wedding ceremony at The Desmond Hotel, Sean stood awaiting his bride under a fabulous floral arch. Both Marisa’s mother and father walked her down the aisle and kissed her on the cheek before handing her off to Sean. His personal vows would draw out one of Marisa’s signature smiles that he loves so much. Before placing the rings on each other’s fingers, he took her hands and kissed them as they excitedly became husband and wife. The ceremony concluded with their first kiss and traditional smashing of the glass and headed up the aisle & into forever!

Wedding Reception at the Desmond Hotel

While guests were enjoying their final moments of cocktail hour, the bride and groom snuck off to the ballroom for a room reveal of their wedding reception at the Desmond Hotel. They even had a moment to practice their first dance in the empty ballroom before the wedding party made their entertaining entrances.

Marisa & Sean cheered and celebrated through their grand introduction as guests welcomed the newlyweds for their first dance as husband and wife. After settling down for speeches, sustenance, and parent dances, the cutting of the cake marked the start of the celebration on the dance floor. Starting off strong with the bride and groom lifted over our heads for the Horah, they danced right up until the end of their wedding at The Desmond Hotel.
