May brought us to some stunning places, not the least of which was Mazell and Jared’s wedding at the Bellevue with a brief repose at the campus of the University of Pennsylvania – one of our very favorite places to shoot. Mazell is a beautiful, bubbly and radiant soul. Her smile lights rooms, her laughter is like bells, and she is the perfect counterpart to Jared. Jared is a little more reserved and had a becoming sobriety about him as he got ready to see Mazell for the first time on their wedding day. Once united, they were two perfect pieces of a puzzle put together. They connect in such a beautiful and profound way. She has a way of making him smile that no one else can rival. His love for her gently glows and enhances her natural radiance. They are grounded in reality, but their love lifts them to the clouds.

Both Mazell and Jared are doctors – Mazell has a dual MD and PhD. Jared is equally accomplished with his degree from the University of Pennsylvania. They had asked to do their portraits there, and we were quite happy to oblige. Penn has a gorgeous campus. It’s one of our very favorite places to go for portraits. There are so many little nooks and crannies that you can use to create intimate moments, and big open areas for bridal party chaos. The trees were blooming; these little purple buds that proclaimed new beginnings, and Mazell and Jared were perfectly at home there. They nestled in close and just enjoyed the start of their new life together.

The mini LOVE statue on Penn’s campus is fair less crowded than it’s big brother and still an iconic background for a bridal party photograph.
A traditional Jewish ceremony followed their beautiful ketubah being signed and their marriage was official! The Bellevue ballroom was beautifully appointed and the stage was set for an incredible party. The traditional Hora dance was energetic and infectious. We just wanted to join in! Instead, we whisked the newlyweds outside for a quick Broad Street shot with all the lights of the city framing them in vivid color. We returned them quickly to their party and watched them dance the night away.
