It was a wonderfully warm and sunny Saturday in late May, and we arrived to photograph Shamala and Dan’s wedding. Each had paid incredible attention to detail and we got to see all the parts come together beautifully. Shamala was graceful and exuberant as she carefully slipped into her lacey sheath dress, and her eyes lit up as she received a beautiful strand of pearls from Tiffany from her lovely fiancé. Dan was stoic but lighthearted as he donned his navy suit, tied his tie and affixed his personalized tie clip. When Shamala’s gift to him arrived all wrapped in pink, he opened it with eager expectation and revealed a handsome leather band watch.
Shamala and Dan tied the knot at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in North Wales on a wonderfully warm and bright May afternoon. They were dressed to the nines, ready to rock and roll and unite their hearts together forever. Dan waited patiently for his bride, and Shamala beamed the entire way down the aisle. They exchanged vows, promising their lives to one another, gave rings as a sign of their love, and sealed their union with a tender kiss.
The grounds at PINE CREST COUNTRY CLUB were a wonderfully scenic backdrop for both bridal party and couples portraits. Not only did we get to photograph Dan and Shamala in their lovely wedding dress and suit, but they also changed into traditional Indian garb for a small ceremony where they were anointed with a spiced water and had beautiful garlands of fresh flowers adorn their necks. After that ceremony we took them all around the grounds to get portraits in both outfits. The vibrant red of Shamala’s dress contrasted beautifully with the greenery, much like a rose. However, when the sun sank low, we whisked them out for a few shots beneath the splendid sky.
