William Penn Inn Wedding | Amanda Girardi & Evan Kikut

The first time Rachel spoke with Amanda and Evan, there was an immediate kinship formed. Amanda’s easy going and fun-loving nature connected with hers, and Evan’s sense of humor kept everyone laughing throughout their engagement session and William Penn Inn wedding.

Getting Ready for their William Penn Inn Wedding

When we arrived at Amanda’s parent’s home, Amanda welcomed us with a huge hug and utter exuberance. She excitedly bade us follow her to begin with her details. On the suggestion of one of her bridesmaids (a photographer, actually) she had a whole styling kit prepared for us. A beautiful silver tray, velvet ring boxes, and even some sheer ribbon for texture. Once we’d photographed everything to our heart’s content, we turned attention to the gorgeous Donna Morello dress she’d chosen. When she’d tried it on, her “face lit up and she didn’t want to take it off”. That’s the way it should be!

There was so much joy and excitement that the time simply flew by and soon we were heading to the church.

But before we get too far ahead, we should mention Evan’s experience of the morning. It was good. His nephews did their best to steal the show by being adorable, but Evan rivaled them with his Varani suit and Thor cufflinks. Maybe just the tiniest bit nervous, but he made it to the church on time.

The Ceremony at St. Andrew’s Church

So, before we get into the beautiful ceremony that united Amanda and Evan in marriage, we have to mention one of the most hilarious things ever said to us about a priest ever. Amanda mentioned that when they booked the church for their wedding, her father said that “no one is going to be looking at you, they’re all going to be staring at your priest thinking bad things”. And we have to admit, he was a very handsome priest.

Anyway, the look of utter astonishment on Evan’s face spoke a a thousand words about his feelings for Amanda. As she came down the aisle, he was left breathless. With nothing but huge smiles, and maybe a sniffle or two, Evan and Amanda joined their hearts forever.

Then it was off to the William Penn Inn for lots of pictures and partying.

The William Penn Inn Wedding Reception

Every so often, a couple comes along and makes us straight up ugly cry. Rachel was a blubbering mess through most of Amanda and Evan’s first dance, and Amanda’s dance with her father. But she had played dirty by recording an intro for her father to play before their song. It’s moments like these that we are grateful we have giant cameras in front of our faces.

But we were struck by just how emotional this reception began. The speeches were full of laughs but also brought happy tears with them. The dances were joyous. Amanda and Evan were together in the fullest sense of the word.

It was a true sadness when it was time to leave their company. Thankfully we got to see them a few weeks later for their album design session and even have caught up over drinks. Just a side note, if you really like us, we can be friends too – not just your wedding photographer!
