Shelley and Jim got married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the William Penn Inn this past October. Their vibrant color palette and love of craft beer (click here for their brewery engagement session) and polka dots was on prominent display as they said their vows and became husband and wife.
Getting Ready at the William Penn Inn
When we arrived at the quaint William Penn Inn, we found an excited Shelley getting ready with her bridesmaids in the bridal suite. Her wedding dress from Arielle Bridal was a beautiful satin number with a drop waist. We loved her simple black heels from Manolo Blahnik and the pops of color from her bouquets. The bright daisies were just so happy! After some finishing touches, Shelley put on her dress and was well on her way to becoming Mrs. Olsen.
Meanwhile, Jim was upstairs hanging out like his usual chill self. His bride and groom cufflinks were perfect and he put them in with great care. We fell hard for his succulent boutonniere and couldn’t wait to see him meet his bride at the end of the aisle.
Their Outdoor Ceremony at the William Penn Inn
The day couldn’t have been more perfect for their outdoor ceremony. The sun was still warm and even as it began to set, the temperature was comfortable. Shelley’s mother escorted her down the aisle to where Jim waited for her. They said their vows to each other simultaneously in a touching gesture of equality, and after exchanging their wedding rings, they made presented their mothers with a rose to signify the joining of the families. Perhaps the most unique aspect of their wedding was their unity cocktail. Fine brews are near and dear to their hearts and they regularly visit breweries and distilleries. Shelley chose a peaty scotch to pair with Jim’s hoppy IPA and they combined them and shared their first married drink together.
Couples Portraits at the William Penn Inn
With the sun fading fast, we quickly worked to capture Shelley and Jim’s first moments as husband and wife. There was lots of snuggling punctuated by kisses and the occasional hors d’oeuvre from the William Penn Inn.
The Reception at the William Penn Inn
Shelley and Jim were announced into their reception to their excited guests and quickly wowed the crowd with a choreographed first dance. They invited everyone to join them and the party was off to the races. Too soon it was time to pack up and head out.
Shelley and Jim – we hope that your honeymoon in Hawaii was absolutely incredible and that you enjoy many years of fine craft beer and scotch together!

Beautiful bright blooms and a darling little pumpkin set off Shelley and Jim’s wedding rings. Her classic black Manolo Blahnik heels were the perfect accessory to her dress.

Jim’s charming bride and groom cufflinks were an adorable addition to his classic black tux ensemble.

A perfect sky, bright colors and polka dots, and a unity cocktail for their ceremony made Shelley and Jim’s wedding truly unique and lovely.

Shelley and Jim each gave their mothers a rose to signify the joining of their two families together.

Fully embracing the polka dot and autumn theme of their wedding, Shelley and Jim had an amazing polka dot cake with a kitty cat cake topper and used mini pumpkins for their place cards.
