Bre and Dave and their incredible Duportail House (pronounced Du-Por-Tie) wedding was a highlight for our associate, Rachel. The details, the love story and the indomnitable spirit of Bre and Dave and their excitement combined with a stunning location and perfect autumn day made this wedding one for the books.
their story began when…
they met online. We are finding that more and more of our couples are meeting their true love online. Dave was so enamored with Bre on their first couple dates that he didn’t even finish his food. They talked and talked, and their connection was immediate and deepened with every date. They realized that they were completely themselves from the first moment they met, not the polished “date selves” that people tend to adopt when meeting someone new. Dave realized Bre was the one for him when she stood by his through his basic training, and Bre knew he was her man when he kept her alive with casseroles and her house clean through the grueling months of grad school.
their Duportail House wedding
The day was amazing. Blue skies and clear fresh air blowing in through the windows, and Bre’s sunny smile greeting us when we arrive at the Duportail House at the start of her wedding day. Her details were perfect. Her Betsey Johnson flats sparkled, but not as brightly as her vintage 1920’s engagement ring. The elegant mermaid wedding dress hung in the window, the sunlight gave it an ethereal glow. Every last detail was hand picked. As the moment drew near for their first look, Bre slipped into her dress with the help of her mother and bridesmaids. She couldn’t wait to see Dave, and he was on his way.
Dave had been getting ready with his groomsmen at a nearby hotel. His suit was pressed and his shoes shined, and his groomsmen were providing many laughs. We think that the mini bottles of booze, rocks glasses and special soapstone chiller rocks had something to do with that.
Their first look took place on a small bridge on the expansive and beautiful property of the Duportail House. Both the bride and groom lit up the second their eyes fell on the other. From that point on, everything was gravy for them. There was nothing that deterred their joy in the day, even when Bre had to improvise her vows at the altar.
Their families and friends surrounded them with love and joy, and their outdoor reception was lovely. The tables elicited thoughts of a delightful garden party. Furthermore the lanterns, moss table numbers and the wooden plates and utensils were absolutely perfect. And the pizza! Oh man! Pitruco Pizza brought their brick oven food truck and baked fresh pizzas for their dinner. It was absolutely amazing and we were thrilled when we got to try some!
Bre and Dave, we love your love for each other and had such a wonderful time with you on your special day. We hope that your honeymoon was amazing and most of all that you have an incredible life together!
