As a Chester County wedding photographer, I always look forward to seeing the next year’s bridal collections. I’m particularly excited about what’s coming in 2014–the spring and fall collections are out!
With the new year just around the corner, I thought I’d share a little sneak peek of what you have to look forward to if you’re attending a wedding next year–or are planning one.
Oscar de la Renta
Oscar de la Renta showed a lace-heavy fall 2014 collection with lots of detail, petals, and polka dots layered over tulle. This dress is especially beautiful, with its invisible neckline, cotton corded rose Chantilly lace appliqué, and a-line silhouette.
Marchesa
Marchesa’s fall 2014 collection is airy and romantic with feminine touches like lace, ruffles, and handmade floral appliqués.
My personal favorite? This hand-pleated chiffon gown with pearl and crystal embroidery at the waist and neckline. I love its Grecian feel and the way the gown pools behind her.
Badgley Mischka
I love mermaid dresses for two reasons: they evoke old Hollywood glamour, and hug a woman’s curves to create a sexy silhouette. They’re a big part of Badgley Mischka’s spring 2014 collection, which brings the 1920’s starlets of the silver screen to mind.
This is the Norma dress from Badgley Mischka. It’s a satin mermaid gown with three-quarter sleeves and an intricately beaded bodice. Also, I have to say, I’m a fan of the afros that the models rocked during this fashion show.
Vera Wang
Vera Wang, the gold standard in wedding fashion, has done it again. Fall 2014’s collection is in shades of pink: petal, rose, coral, and peony. It was incredibly hard to choose just one favorite to share with you, but after much deliberation I went with this coral strapless chiffon mermaid gown with alternating pleat bodice, organic flower detail and pleated tier skirt. Detail can get bulky, but this gown–in an incredible color, I might add–still has a little bit of slink.
