It’s always a blast when we can continue capturing a family’s happy memories. Melissa’s cousin, Patrick and his bride Brittany, kicked off the Spring season for Ashley as she spent a gorgeous day traipsing through Chester County, capturing the love and laughter of these two at their Mendenhall Inn wedding!
Getting Ready for Their Mendenhall Inn Wedding
In her home, filled with gorgeous window light, we arrived to find a cheerful Brittany ready for her wedding. Her details were laid out for us to begin with, and we got straight to work. Her dress by Pronovias and bought at Jennifer’s Bridal hung with the sunshine streaming through. Her carefully selected jewels and pearls were thoughtfully captured before it was time to get ready. Before we could let her don the dress, we had to head outside for a champagne toast! Then it was time. Brittany’s mom helped her button and zip, fasten and clip, and made sure not one thing was out of place for her daughter.
Once all the girls were dressed we snapped a few quick formals and scooted over to the church!
Not too terribly far away, Patrick and the groomsmen we’re having a grand old time. What’s not to enjoy when there’s whiskey involved? Patrick’s mom also helped him finish getting ready, and we loved his striped navy tie. Guys always have an easier time of the getting ready, and in no time flat, he was off to the church!

The Wedding Ceremony at St Thomas the Apostle
When Patrick caught a glimpse of Brittany as she walked down the aisle, his breath caught. She drifted down to him and they married in a Catholic mass in the presence of family and friends. With the exchange of rings, vows, and a kiss, they were merrily proclaimed man and wife.
Then it was off to Brandywine Battlefield for all the pictures!

Portraits at Brandywine Battlefield
Everybody was in fine spirits when we arrived. And why not? Two happy newlyweds, their besties, and a gorgeous Spring day where the wind seemed to play along. All the greenery was growing in, and Brittany’s veil nearly flew away with her once or twice. In other words, the portraits were fun and lively! We took care of business and then got everyone to where they really wanted to be: the Mendenhall Inn wedding reception!

The Mendenhall Inn Wedding Reception
It was a great party. Starting from their first dance, Brittany and Patrick showed everyone how to have a good time. It was punctuated by toasts and lots of good food. When the dance floor opened back up, it went down. In more ways than one. They’d strapped a Go Pro camera to a bottle of Jameson that saw more action than we could keep track of. So the night continued and everyone celebrated the happy couple with vigor.
