Sarah & David have an undeniable love for the city of Philadelphia. Though, their love for each other is much greater. These two spent an incredible day in the city they love with all of the people they love. They planned an epic Philadelphia wedding at Cescaphe’s Downtown Club and we were thrilled to capture the celebration of their love for each other and all things Philly!

Getting Ready for the Philadelphia Downtown Club Wedding

The day began at Renaissance Philly, a contemporary hotel with an elevated modern style fit for their Downtown Club wedding day. While the Bella Angel beauty team put the finishing touches on the bridesmaids, we got to work capturing Sarah’s dazzling details. The Philadelphia themed invitations set the stage for a classic celebration in the city. When it was time to adorn her wedding day wardrobe, it was all hands on deck as her mom, David’s mom and grandmother helped her into her dress from Rena Elle Couture. Once she was ready for her Philadelphia wedding at the Downtown Club, Sarah shared a sweet first look with her father before heading to meet David for their first look.

While the girls were busy bustling through their wedding preparations, David & his groomsmen had a little more time on their hands. Before donning his classic black tuxedo and bowtie, David challenged his buddies to a few rounds of his favorite vintage video games. When it came time to get dressed, each groomsmen added their matching Philadelphia themed socks featuring all the Philly favorites. David’s sister stopped by to place the finishing touches on his wedding ensemble. With a beautiful boutonniere and pocket square perfectly in place, David was a delightfully dapper groom ready for his Philadelphia wedding at the Downtown Club.

With David already on his way to the first look location on foot, Sarah had a celebratory surprise for the groomsmen. Before boarding the Cescaphe trolley, the groomsmen got ‘iced’! For those unfamiliar with icing, it’s when someone surprises you with a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and you are required to chug it, preferably while taking a knee. It was such a fun way to kick off the celebrations before the Philadelphia wedding at Downtown Club.

First Look & Wedding Portraits in Old City Philadelphia

David took us to a neighborhood park he and Sarah would frequent on their walks through Old City Philadelphia before moving out to the suburbs. We found a quiet nook between the transitioning trees in a quaint cobblestone alley for David to hide in anticipation of his bride. When the pair finally saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, a series of snuggles unfolded as the emotions poured out.

Sarah & David’s love for the City of Philly (and their sports teams) is unmatched. With a mix of alluring Autumn leaves and historical Philadelphia landmarks, Washington Square was the perfect backdrop for photos. Their family & wedding party joined in at the Second Bank before the bride and groom took a quick journey to Library Hall.

Downtown Club Wedding Ceremony

With an incredible view of Independence Hall and the city outside, Sarah & David picked the perfect place for their Philadelphia wedding ceremony & celebration at Cescaphe’s Downtown Club. After walking down the aisle on the arms of his mother and grandmother, David took his place at the altar. His face lit up with pure joy as Sarah & her father walked down the candlelit aisle. His sister, Danielle, officiated the interfaith ceremony with a mix of Christian & Jewish wedding traditions. The couple exchanged wedding rings and vows before participating in the candle lighting ritual with their mothers. Once their love was officially sealed with a kiss, it was time to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Jonas!

Wedding Celebration at Cescaphe’s Downtown Club

The signature cocktail hour by Cescaphe at the Philadelphia Downtown Club wedding was full of festive fare and decor. From the incredible drawing of Independence Hall as their guestbook, to the ice sculpture featuring the Phillie Phanatic and Swoop, their love of the city was more than evident.

Back in the ballroom, captivating calla lily centerpieces towered over tables. Sarah’s mother and grandmother both featured the flower in their weddings. The Beautiful Blooms team created a stunning reception space with the significantly special centerpieces.

Sarah & David’s grand entrance to the ballroom kicked off the celebrations as they tossed their wedding favors into the crowd like t-shirts at a Phillies game. They shared their first dance to the tune of “Forever Kind of Way” as flower petals fell around them. After parent dances and toasts from the best man and maid of honor, the bread was broken and the celebrations continued into the night.
