We fell in love with Stacey and Seth when we first met them and even more during their sunset engagement session at the Jersey Shore. Their love story is an opposites attract – he’s the carefree “go with the flow” and she is the planner. He is the chef and more artistic of the two, and Stacey is the social butterfly and organizer. They fit together perfectly. And we were there when they joined their lives forever.
Getting Ready at Le Méridien in Philadelphia
When we arrived at the gorgeous suite at Le Meridien where Stacey was getting ready, our breath caught in our throats. Stacey’s stunning Eve of Milady gown was hanging up and it was incredible. Layers and layers of tulle with Italian sequins that shimmered with every motion. The white and blush layering gave it the illusion of different colors with different light. The beaded bodice was handcrafted and featured a low and sheer back. Holy wow. The only thing that rivaled the dress was the bride herself.
Stacey was radiant as she got the finishing touches put on her makeup. She had planned and planned and everything was going off perfectly. Her bridesmaids and mom were bustling about and soon it was time to slip that gorgeous dress on.
Meanwhile, Seth was downstairs putting on his tux and goofing around with his groomsmen. His mosaic cufflinks were really unique and the beautiful calla lily boutonniere was elegance through and through. As a touch of whimsy and humor, he donned dancing skeleton socks – since Halloween was only a couple days away. Then it was time for him to see his bride!
The First Look at Dilworth Plaza
The weather was surprisingly warm for the end of October and it allowed for us to set up a beautiful first look in front of City Hall at Dilworth Plaza. Seth waited patiently for his bride to make her way to him, and when he turned and saw her, his jaw dropped. With good reason. She was everything he could have dreamed and more.
From their, we whisked them away around town for bridal party and couples portraits. Stopping at Washington Square and visiting our favorite staircase there. Then it was time for the ceremony.
The Ceremony at Vie
Stacey’s father had sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer years before, so her mother and brother were her representatives during the Ketubah ceremony before the public ceremony. After a bit of a delay for the rabbi, Seth and Stacey signed their gorgeous marriage contract and then made their way down the aisle to the chuppah.
During their ceremony, they were joined under Stacey’s father’s tallis. A moment of tremendous weight and significance. It was as though her father’s presence was enveloping them and giving them a blessing to start their marriage. Truly spectacular. After Seth broke the glass, they happily walked down the aisle as man and wife and it was party on!
The Reception at Vie
One thing that never fails to impress us is Cescaphe Events and their incredible venues. Vie is one of them. Old world style with a modern twist. The room was beautifully appointed with large calla lily arrangements and white hydrangeas. Lots and lots of candles were employed to give the room a warm glow. Their cake was decorated with the Philadelphia skyline and topped with the Drexel Dragon (where they both attended college).
They were announced in to thunderous applause and immediately regaled everyone with a choreographed first dance. In our humble opinion, there should be more of these in the wedding world. There were speeches by family and friends, good shared food, and lots of love and laughter in the air. Seth shared a dance with his mother and in a touching tribute, Stacey honored her father by asking everyone to join her and dance to his favorite song. Taking Care of Business by Bachman Turner Overdrive. Everyone joined in and the dance floor was jumping all night. Soon it was time for cake cutting and then we were at the end of our time with this spectacular couple.
